36 chains are now fully( 100%) documented, and you can see the list in the app
Quick update on the data side.
A chain counts as fully documented when every item on its menu comes from the chain's own published fat numbers instead of our estimate. As of today that is 36 US chains, including McDonald's, Starbucks, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, Subway, Burger King, Dunkin' and Domino's.
You can see the whole list in the app now: Settings, then Learn, then Fully documented chains. It updates itself as we finish more. The site has the same list on the methodology page, and every chain report card now shows what share of its menu is from the chain.
Some corrections that came out of this week's work:
KFC buckets were understated. Summing KFC's own piece numbers, the 8 piece bucket is about 51g of PUFA, not 38, and the 12 piece is about 76g, not 56.
Red Robin's Whiskey River BBQ Ribs went from 4g to 34.6g. Red Robin's own guide prints a broken total fat for that dish (saturated fat higher than total fat), so we rebuilt it from their calories, carbs and protein. Almost all of it is pork fat. The only seed oil is in the coleslaw.
Baked Lay's are not a seed oil product anymore. Frito-Lay's own label says olive oil and prints the polyunsaturated fat: 0.5g a bag.
Culver's now has 18 items on Culver's own measured polyunsaturated numbers.
We also cleaned out 921 old items that had been removed from the data but were still showing in the app.
And from yesterday: when you pick an item you can now take toppings off or add them, and the number you log changes with it. Live at Five Guys, Whataburger, Chipotle, Firehouse Subs and Domino's to start.
Hold your finger on any item to see where its number came from. If something looks wrong, tell us. Several fixes this month came from people checking our work.
