@seedoiltracker

Quick thank you to everyone sending in restaurant requests and Local Spots. We've been adding every Local Spot request, and they go in within a couple of days. I'm always checking them, so keep them coming.

Here's what changed recently:

New restaurants and Local Spots from your requests: Burger Lounge, Jax Burger Shack in New Zealand, Mama Margie's, the gyros at Paisano's, and TALLOW in Wyncote PA, which fries everything in grass fed beef tallow.

Big menu refresh. We rechecked almost every…

A lot has landed since the last update. Here is what you can use today.

Restaurants in 70 countries
We added 65 countries since early September: New Zealand, Ireland, almost all of Europe, Mexico, Brazil, India, Japan, South Africa, Singapore, the Gulf and more. That is about 790 chains and 90,000 menu items. Where a chain publishes nutrition for that country, we use that country's own document, not the US one. They are live on the website now (seedoiltracker.com/de/chains for Germany,…

Two things this week.

We hit 100. A chain counts as fully documented when every item on its menu comes from the chain's own published fat numbers instead of our estimate. All of it, not most of it. As of today that is 100 US chains, including McDonald's, Subway, Starbucks, Dunkin', Taco Bell, Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, Wendy's, Five Guys, Whataburger, Olive Garden and Shake Shack. That is 5,947 menu items where you can hold your finger on the row and see the exact panel line the number came from.…

Quick update on the data side.

A chain counts as fully documented when every item on its menu comes from the chain's own published fat numbers instead of our estimate. As of today that is 36 US chains, including McDonald's, Starbucks, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, Subway, Burger King, Dunkin' and Domino's.

You can see the whole list in the app now: Settings, then Learn, then Fully documented chains. It updates itself as we finish more. The site has the same list on the…

What is the reasoning for premium? (and what it actually is)

Everything that matters in this app is free and always will be.
The tracker, the whole restaurant database, the receipts behind every number, the scanner, reading and replying here in the forum.
None of that will ever go behind a paywall. Not the best features, not the main features. That is a promise.

So what does premium unlock?
My blog.
The ability to post more than 3 times a week here (the 3 post limit exists to keep spam…
